In all my sacred sound making, the hides are processed by me, by hand and spirit. Every step of the process from hunting to transforming is done with the ancient magic of spirit connection. As I flesh, stir, tend, and transform each hide; I am also listening to and merging with the spirit of that animal. I have them share with me all they want me to see and know about them so I can give voice to their magic, medicine, and power of essence. Each a lesson and blueprint for how to be a better being. Every drum comes with the storied ancestry of these animals as their skin gives birth to many many little bodies of sacred sound medicine.
